Summary of data requirements
  • Images:
    • 1–5 high-quality images. 5 are recommended for best results.

    • Write a clear and engaging main description of your project, product launch, open call, etc.
    • Keep it clear and engaging
  • Click through:
    • Enter the link to your landing page so people can learn more.
  • Account tag:
    • Add your Pinterest profile (if available) handle to connect your content to your account.
  • Geo-targeting:
    • Specify the cities or countries you want to reach.
    • This ensures the right people see your content.
    • You also have an option to target Worldwide audiences.

Visual guidance

  • First Image:
    • In case of promoting event, opening, competition, you can add minimal text (event name, time, place, or open call deadline).
    • Keep it clean - only the most important info.
    • Make sure the design matches the mood of your photos.
  • Lighting and colors:
    • Make sure the product is well-lit and clearly visible.
    • Keep colors natural - not too dull or too bright.
  • Engaging & unique imagery:
    • Avoid plain white or single-color backgrounds.
    • Show the product in a real-life setting (garden, living room, etc.) where it’s used.
  • Storytelling:
    • Include images that show the product in use, the production process, or visuals that convey the idea/mission behind it.
    • Mix close-ups with wider, ambient shots.Background & people:
    • Remove unnecessary objects from the background that may distract from the product.
    • If people appear in the photo, make sure you have their permission to show their faces.

Technical requirements

  • Quantity: 1 to 5 high-resolution images.
  • Aspect ratio: 2:3 or 9:16. Note: All images should maintain the same proportions, either 2:3 or 9:16  (Please do not send the mixed imagery Ex: some photo in portrait format and some in landscape. Keep it consistent) .
  • File type: JPG, PNG or MP4.
  • Resolution: Minimum 1000 x 1500 pixels
  • File naming: Sequence in desired publication order (For example: 01-image-name.jpg, 02-image-name.jpg).

Text

  • Language: British English. Note: If you choose a non-feed option, text can be in any language as long as it is Geo Targeted towards the country of that language.
  • Title: Keep the title short—no more than 100 characters (including spaces).
  • Description: You can write up to 500 characters (including spaces and hashtags). Make sure to include the company name.
  • Keywords: Use words in the title and description that people might type when searching on Pinterest (for example: "wooden chair", "modern living room").
  • Hashtags: At the end of the description, add a few keywords with a # in front of them (like #interiordesign or #homedecor).
  • File Format: Save everything in a Word document or RTF file.
  • Tone of voice:
    • Start with a catchy headline in the very first sentence to grab attention.
    • Write the text using third-person perspective, referring to people or things as "it" or "they" instead of using "we" (first person) or "you" (second person).
    • Keep the language simple and conversational so it feels natural and easy to understand.
    • Avoid making the text sound too promotional, sales-focused, or pushy.- Stay clear of vague or abstract statements, overly general comments, and biased language to maintain clarity and credibility.
